Hawaii’s “akamai” consumers are no longer satisfied with just clear glass for many of their cabinets.  Instant glamour can be created with the newest choices in the glass industry, as represented by our line of Spectrum and Cardinal glass.  In addition to those shown, we also have another myriad of glass types available including cracked glass and narrow reed.

Here’s how to choose your style of glass for a cabinet:

In choosing clear glass, you are allowing your finer patterns of collectibles and display pieces to show without interference.

When you need a classic plus look for your simple or everyday pieces , then a ribbed or patterned glass will accentuate the overall shapes and shadows and add texture.  Sandblasted, or frosted glass will merely cast a fog over the contents, obscuring it too much.

Stronger elements, such as vibrant mixed colors, often create a fun and bold look.  If you want to tone that down, however, neither clear nor ribbed glass helps.  A better balance comes with frosted or sandblasted glass, which retains the suggestion of color but doesn’t allow it to overpower.

We highly recommend that you take a look in person at our samples at Akamai Glass, conveniently located in Mapunapuna near Bob’s Big Boy (1024 B Kikowaena Place).  Contact us at 833-1111 or email at:  customerservice@akamaiglass.com.
